Now let’s dive into some new videos from this week.

Political Ad Analysis

Our first video comes from Gil David, one of our long-time contributors and moderators.

Since we’re in election season, Gil decided to take a look at what online marketers can learn from the political ads that are popping up everywhere right now.

Let’s take a look --

"I can see that, overall, Trump spent about nine million more than Biden. And they've got a ton of other pages that are running ads for them as well.

"A lot of Republican-supporting pages and Democrat-supporting pages, and over 50,000 ads.

"Here, you can see a square image compared with the old horizontal ones. They're running some kind of test here, but we expect that square to embed, especially on Instagram. And they're really clear, simple messages. Nothing complicated there.

"There's a lesson we can learn here as well. Sometimes it's tempting to write too many words or try to be too clever with the text on your images. This gets the message across and smacks you on the head with it straight away.

"It's also very short. This whole thing is above the fold. There's no need to say more than that."

That video is about 15 minutes long and full of great information. Thanks Gil, you’ve got my vote.

Setting Up Google Merchant Center

Next up, my man Maor Benaim has a great how-to video for setting up your Google Merchant Center.

This video is just nine minutes long, and it’s full of great tips.

Here’s one --

"The first tip is to set up the account late as possible. Don't rush opening it up, because you are more likely to have to do the job twice.

"Consider the stuff that Google is looking for, like a solid refund policy, an SSN on the checkout page, actual prices on your feed and the site, clean images with no text, and stuff like that.

"Google is going to dig deep into that stuff and basically ban your account if you fail. And once you try and open up a new account, you'll have red flags that could delay your operations, and you don't want to get into that situation."

Great job Maor. If you’re using Google Merchant Center for eCommerce, this video is for you.

Our last new video this week comes from Zach Duncan.

Zach shared an explainer video looking at Google Data Studio as a reporting solution and included templates for managing ad spend.

Google Data Studio Explainer

This video is over 25 minutes long and covers Facebook Analytics, client marketing KPIs, Audience Manager, and Dynamic Creative Variable Reports.

That’s a lot, right? Let’s take a look --

"This is just a view for you to make a copy of the report. Then you connect your data sources. This original data source will be Supermetrics data. And it only works one way. If these don't match, it will map over any of the metrics and pick random metrics.

When you see this Supermetrics data, that is Facebook Ads data, Google Analytics data, and Google Analytics production view. That's also Google Analytics.

It's a very specific chart, but I don't think it really made a big difference with that view. So just use Google Analytics data for both of those."

Excellent stuff there. Thanks Zach.

Alright, before we ride off into the sunset, let’s check out our Throwback Post of the Week.

AdLeaks TV Episode 28: Throwback Post of the Week

Our throwback post this week comes from Justin Brenner.

Justin shared a long, detailed guide on scaling service agencies from $1MM to $50MM fast.

This isn’t a video, it’s a PDF, so we actually don’t have a clip to show you. (Sorry.)
